Alka seltzer science experiment

Snow Storm in a Jar
Alka-Seltzer Lab Report Final.docx Alka seltzer experiment Two graphs measure the decibel levels of an Alka-Seltzer tablet dissolving in water. The minimum decibel level was 20 and the maximum 60.

You may have seen a television commercial for Alka-Seltzer tablets, or heard one of their advertising slogans: "Plop, plop, fizz, fizz, oh what a relief it is!®" When you drop the tablets in water, they make a lot of bubbles, like an extra-fizzy soda, as shown in Figure 1 below. And like a soda, the bubbles are carbon dioxide gas (CO2). However, with Alka-Seltzer, the CO2 is produced by a chemical reaction that occurs when the tablets dissolve in water. Volcano Simulator Lab (Alka-Seltzer) First of all, we all know that the most common effervescing tablet used in a film canister rocket is Alka-Seltzer. In fact, the company that makes Alka-Seltzer is so proud of the fact that it can be used in science experiments they have a whole page on their website dedicated to it! Not to rain on the Alka-Seltzer science parade but, just between us, the generic brands also work perfectly well for this activity and it saves some moolah!
