Steam program

Can I apply to STEAM?
We’ve designed a comprehensive STEAM curriculum that maps important learning objectives by STEAM concepts and skill level, organized into four difficulty levels, loosely aligned for grades 3 to 6. In developing our STEAM program for Planeteers, our educational design team reviewed international standards and curriculums for grades 3 to 6 in Australia, UK, USA, Canada, SEA and China. We used our learnings to create a STEAM Learning Continuum, which includes a comprehensive mix of learning objectives for teachers seeking a holistic platform to teach STEAM education using blended learning; including computer programming for kids! By integrating the arts into STEM, STEAM-focused curricula incorporate the study of the humanities, language arts, dance, drama, music, visual arts, design, new media and more. Students who explore and master any of these subjects can make themselves more marketable in today’s workforce, as 57 percent of senior leaders value soft skills more than hard skills, according to a 2018 LinkedIn report. Furthermore, a 2019 LinkedIn report notes that creativity, persuasion and collaboration are the top three skills companies seek in prospective employees. Learning Objectives If preparing students for future STEM jobs and earning a STEM teacher salary intrigues you, you might be wondering, What is a STEAM teacher, and how does this role differ from a STEM teacher? What does a STEAM teacher job description entail?

The STEAM Education Model and How to Implement It
It is necessary for schools to evaluate a proposed STEM or STEAM course and refer to the Proper Placement Considerations document to ensure the class is taught by an appropriately prepared teacher or teachers. Following this guidance, a key consideration is the intended Michigan Merit Curriculum (MMC) credit being offered for the course. In addition, the subject area endorsement necessary to teach a STEM or STEAM course may only be determined after a review of the course content. What is a STEAM Teacher? STEM vs. STEAM Teacher Job Description They are useful. The skills children learn when engaging with STEAM concepts in preschool are transferable and useful across many aspects of their lives. For example, process skills, which include making observations, hypothesizing and critical thinking, are basic skills for math and science but are also valuable skills for learning any subject.

The STEAM test questions were adapted from a multi-disciplinary test bank. The question types and scores consisted of seven multiple-choice questions, each worth five points; four gap-fill questions containing eight blanks, with five points per blank; and one link question worth 25 points. CURRICULUM STEAM STEAM curricula and activities implemented in classrooms have been shown to increase students’ STEM content knowledge, intent to continue studying or participating in STEAM, and more positive attitudes toward STEAM. These findings are promising. Students who participate in STEAM initiatives at summer camps, museums, international programs, and after-school programs have similar learning benefits. STEAM is being used in a variety of settings all over the world to improve student outcomes in STEAM fields.
