How To Create An Instagram Link Page In Squarespace

If you are a health practitioner and in Tammy Guest’s Natupreneur Hub Facebook Group, you would have seen a great Thursday tip about adding a website page instead of a link tree. This can save you so much time (and money!) by hosting this page within your existing website.

I love doing it this way because you can always keep it up to date easily and efficiently and your customers and page visitors will always stay on your website rather than visiting a page that may blend with your brand.

The process to create this page for your own website is simple, which I have outlined the steps for Squarespace below, it’s the same principle with other platforms.

Creating an Instagram Link Page

STEP ONE

Create a new blank page under “Not Linked.” which means you won’t have it in any visible menus.

STEP TWO

Since this page will only ever be seen on mobile devices, you can turn on the “mobile” view at the top of your screen so you can see what it will look like in real life, you may want to check desktop view out of curiosity and also in case you are planning on using this link of other things other than the Instagram website URL.

STEP THREE

Add your content to the page! You can see mine by clicking this link and here’s a quick checklist of what I suggest a links page should always have.

  • Your photo or top banner: A visual reminder of whose website they’re on as we’re often all on the run or take screenshots for later. I have my logo on mine and I have CSS custom coded my page to hide the menu so it acts more like a landing page.

  • Welcome message: Whether it’s just a quick “welcome I’m glad you’re here!” or a tagline so the viewer knows what you’re all about, this can be handy.

  • Button to website homepage: This is something that always bugs me on link pages when I can’t find a link to just go to the homepage. It’s good to keep it up the top to save scrolling.

  • Your latest offerings: Link to your services, a quiz, a newsletter sign up - where you want people to go and make it easy.

  • Link to your blog or shop: So they can read all about you or buy something - I have had sales from this many times!

  • Link to your about page: Now, you don’t have to do this but if you do, keep this one towards the bottom because this should be scattered in your social media presence anyway.

  • A way to contact you: A link to your contact page, link to directly email or contact form, which can be handy to reduce the mountains of direct messages that get lost.

You can always update or new buttons to this page when you have a new launch. For me, the blogs
& shop items automatically update as new items or posts are added which is handy.

If you are using another platform please add a new page, you will have to add in buttons/widgets for the blog and shop which all depends on the platform (ie) Wix / Shopify / WordPress and what theme it’s been built with as to how easy it is (and this is why I recommend Squarespace for health practitioners over WordPress which you can read more about that here).

Once you have done this, switch out the website URL in the business settings and for any posts writing “link in bio” in the post (because they can not press links in the post on Instagram) means they can access it and they will see exactly what they are looking for.
